Benjamin Samusiko

Benjamin Samusiko is a mental health enthusiasts, advocate and practitioner, the Founder and CEO of Thrive Wellness Hub Solutions who’s passionate about transforming lives, communities whose ambitions are to destigmatizing mental health services and institutions in Zambia.

He has been practicing psycthotherapy and counselling in Zambia for 13 years, he is an award-winning Entrepreneur, a 2022 Tony Elumelu Foundation grant winner of $5000 and currently based in the United Kingdom for post study work experience.

During his years of practice, he has worked with individuals, groups, families, couples, communities and organisations within and outside Zambia and a former Publicity Officer for the Psychology Association of Zambia.

Benjamin has worked with a diverse group of clients from all ages and helped them work through various emotional, behavioral, psychological issues among them alcohol, drug abuse and or addictions, depression, stress, anger issues, grief and bereavement, Trauma (emotional, physical and sexual abuse), Phobias, relationship issues, identity disorders and worked with children in conflict with the Law and those at risky, worked with individuals with chronic conditions etc.

Currently in the United Kingdom for post study work experience.

As a psycthotherapist, Benjamin uses modern Counselling approaches and techniques like Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Positive psychology techniques, Psychodynamic, Common Elements in Treatment Approaches (CETA), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Faith Based Counselling.

All in all, Benjamin is an all-embracing relational person, none judgemental, easy to open up to and confide in, a passionate, hardworking and determined individual with a strong character. His hobbies and interests include travelling, volunteering, cooking, reading, teaching,community involvement, playing chess, watching football and listening to music.
